Falcon® Electric Announces Fulfillment of Over $5 Million Federal Contract For Defense Contractor SECHAN Electronics

IRWINDALE, CA. – January 20, 2010 – Falcon Electric, Inc., (www.falconups.com) an award-winning manufacturer of uninterruptible power systems (UPS) and power conversion systems for military applications, today announced the fulfillment of a contract with DoD contractor Sechan Electronics, Inc. of Lititz, PA. Falcon’s ED Series™ UVS Plus® lightweight 5kVA three-phase power conversion system with a special lightweight battery pack was designed, tested and passed Department of Transportation (DOT) and other certifications. This system will be used onboard a shelter system mounted on a High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) and is currently in use by the U.S. Army.

“Shelter systems are one of Sechan’s many areas of expertise. After we were awarded a contract for this equipment from the U.S. Army, Falcon Electric was willing to design a unit for our specific needs.” said Kraig Wickard, of Sechan. “We needed a three-phase to 120VAC, 60Hz single-phase UPS solution to power the onboard computers and communications equipment.
