Falcon Electric Solves Phase Imbalance Problems with New Feature-Rich 1.5, 2 and 2.4kVA Rackmount Units Offer Small Footprint and Low Price- Ideal for Automation, Process Control, Wafer Processing and Test & Measurement Applications
IRWINDALE, Calif. – March 7, 2006 – Falcon Electric, Inc., today introduced its new ED Series™ Rackmount Frequency and Phase Converters. Falcon’s ED Series is designed to solve the phase imbalance problems encountered when connecting single-phase equipment to a three-phase 400Hz source. This new product family utilizes Falcon’s patented regenerative on-line, sinewave inverter technology to deliver the highest level of clean power. These compact 2U rackmount units feature true double-conversion design and provide frequency conversion and on-line Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) power protection (through optional external battery banks), making the ED Series the ideal solution for challenging power problems. Power hungry applications such as military and aerospace electronics, wafer processing, process control, factory automation, test and measurement and robotics can benefit from the ED Series’ robust feature-set.
The Solution to Phase Imbalance Problems The ED Series Frequency and Phase Converters solve this problem by connecting to a 200/115Vac, 400Hz three-phase input source. The three-phase power is isolated and converted to DC, regulated and fed into an inverter. It then creates a low impedance 120Vac, 50/60/400Hz single-phase output, with +3% regulation.
