Electric Solves Voltage Regulation Problems
IRWINDALE, Calif. – Aug 22 , 2006 – Falcon® Electric, Inc., (www.falconups.com) a leading supplier of power protection and conversion solutions today introduced five new models to its SVR Series™ precision voltage regulator family. The new 230Vac 1.5, 2.2, 3, 5 and 6kVA tower models join Falcon’s popular 1kVA to 3kVA rackmount systems. The addition of these new models gives users a full spectrum of either rack or tower configured regulators to meet their precise requirements.
The need for precise voltage regulation has significantly increased due to the proliferation of digital equipment in industrial and networking environments. Transients, regulation problems, surges, brownouts and generator frequency shifts can damage computers, laboratory equipment, test and measurement systems and other sensitive electronics. Acting as a solid-state generator, the new SVR regenerates new AC power from the utility and supplies connected equipment with clean problem-free power. Due to the SVR’s unique design, the units can also perform 50/60 Hertz frequency conversion for worldwide 230-volt applications in a compact 20-pound package (1.5kVA unit). Superior to tap switching regulators that typically provide ±5 to 10 percent output regulation, the SVR’s double conversion on-line design assures a pure sinewave output with ± 2 percent voltage regulation. The new units also feature .95 input Power Factor Correction (PFC) that reduces harmonics and the associated wear and tear on a building’s wiring system. Challenging power loads such as motors and switch-mode power supplies are easily handled by the SVR’s precise design. For harsh environmental conditions, the regulators are designed to operate from 32 degrees to 104 degrees Fahrenheit and up to 113 degrees Fahrenheit for the 1.5 to 3kVA units.
